Had a person come to me asking if hypnosis would help snoring.
This was the first time I had encountered this, and could not find any scripts or information on hypnosis helping snoring.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

I used two scripts on me based on the fact that if mind can control heart and breathing, in can control the soft palate also. One use the "technical" way saying that the soft palate remain in place during sleeping, the other use the "emotional" way saying: look how it is nice to breathe without snoring. etc.... None worked on me.
If anyone has a better idea, it will be welcomed. |

I notice there has been no progress on scripts for snoring and the last post on this was back in 2001. Has anyone come across any scripts for snoring since?
My client is under 30 male and has a bmi of about 22 |

How did you achieve this? a script or ideas would be welcome
For the record - I am a snorer! I lost 5 stone in weight and stopped and if my weight goes up 6 or 7 pounds I start snoring and when I loose it again I stop! Roll on New Year as my wife will complain about my eating over christmas!

Freud himself said that the person requiring the hypnosis for snoring was not the snorer but the partner of the snorer!!!

I have not seen any scripts for snoring per se, but bear with me here. It has been my experience that many people who live with a snoring problem (and most do consider it a problem, if not for them, for a mate), are overweight. Not all, but most, I think you will find also. In overweight or obese persons, as they gained the weight, they developed a "fat pad", not unlike fat pads in suckling babies' cheeks, above the soft palate. When relaxed during sleep, the weight of that pad on the soft palate collapses the airway, creating the snoring sounds as air is drawn through the throat. Now , I may not would have believed that serious weight loss (30 to 50 pounds) could eliminate snoring, but I have had personal experience with this and have utilized this theory with my weight loss clients and now know there is a distinct correlation. Perhaps this will help you in your endeavors to work with your clients experiencing snoring problems also.
