Hi everybody,
I'm irish living in switzerland and for a number of reasons wanted to try hypnotherapie, as the area of switerland where I live speaks german, I bought a few cd's in german for self-hypnosis, but I don't feel as if I get into a deep enough trance, mostly I just fall asleep and have no memory of the session, if I don't fall asleep I don't feel as if I'm in a trance at all, does anyone know if hypnosis works if it is not in your mother tongue? Do I have to try in english or am I just not the type person who hypnotises easy? (I speak fluent german, and learnt it in a very short time, I thought maybe I could speak it in a past life!)

Hello,
Do a search within this forum (link is in the upper right corner of every page) for "depth of trance." There is a few very interesting discussion going on.
I believe your results should be better in your native language but for the best results find a local Hypnotherapist and have a one-on-one session in either language. All Hypnosis is self-hypnosis but it really helps to have a guide along the path. Ask the Hypnotherapist to help you to do self-hypnosis on your own with some suggestions to allow you to quickly enter your "zone." |
